What is "Cookie Stuffing"
Cookie Stuffing is a Blackhat online marketing technique which enables you to drop an affiliate cookie on any visitor's browser, without their consent. I.e. without them knowing or having to actually "click" on your affiliate links.
Try it only if you like "wearing blackhats" and at your own risk!
The method works by loading the merchant page invisibly, in the background without the visitors noticing it. When page loads, the affiliate/tracking cookie is dropped. If and when the "victim" makes a purchase, you get credit and commission even though you did not actually advertise.
Although almost all affiliate networks don't condone this method and will most likely ban you if discovered using it, but still MANY marketers (including big names) still use it.
Why? Simple:

What is Flash Cookie Stuffing?
Flash cookie stuffing is simply dropping your affiliate cookies using hidden "flash objects".
A simple flash object (like a YouTube video) can cause the merchant page to load in the browser's background.
Flash cookie stuffing is a much harder for the average joe to detect. Also, deleting the cookies won't help much in getting rid of the cookies stuffed.
One advantage over image cookie stuffing:
With flash cookie stuffing, you can fake or blank HTTP_REFERRER for all browsers.
That means you have the ability to deceive the affiliate networks and make them "think" the traffic and clicks are coming from somewhere other than the actual place where you have the flash code doing its work!
As we know, most affiliate networks like to investigate of course and so by default they have scripts that show them where your traffic and clicks are coming from.
When you are cookie stuffing, most of the time you don't want them to know where your traffic is coming from: for example you may be stuffing forums where no affiliate link of yours is showing… still the affiliate network sees those forums as your source of traffic, thus, exposing the fact that you are doing something "shady"… more likely cookie stuffing.
Well, with flash cookie stuffing you can make them see another referral. You can make it seem like as if traffic is coming from your website for example. Or you can make them see nothing at all.. ie. blanking the referral. Get the drift?

As a normal affiliate you would signup to an affiliate program such as with ebay and then promote the link they give you on your own website. When someone clicks on the link and goes through to ebay- a cookie is put onto their system to track them and if they purchase something you earn a little bit of money from the commision.
However when you’re cooking stuffing you don’t actually send visitors to ebay, you simply force the cookie onto their system in the background without them ever knowing. This means you don’t have to drive traffic to them or give them any kind of promotion at all. And because ebay is so big, the chances are a lot of your visitors are going to buy something from them at some point anyway.
Modern day cookie stuffing is nothing more then "forcing" a cookie on a visitor, usually
unknown, whether or not they approve.
Note: You force a cookie to be stuffed; you do not force them to do anything they would
not do on their own anyway. Rather than get into the morality of cookie stuffing, because
we all know where we stand, we'll just skip to the point where we can maximize our
money making efforts with cookie stuffing.
The first rule of cookie stuffing is "We don't talk about cookie stuffing."
Make sure you are stuffing cookies to visitors that actually might go to one of merchant’s sites
you are promoting and you might actually make substantial money.
Another example in reverse this time would be: Stuffing a cookie selling 'Viagra' at a site
that caters to men's health. This is a very good idea and would obviously do very well. I
would really like to hear from other customers as to what their site or sites are about and
what affiliate programs they are using successfully.
Many people like myself will buy highly targeted traffic and send it to an affiliate page
that is stuffing cookies. Yes there is HUGE cash potential when you do this correctly.
I know of one customer that is doing just that and making a literal killing with sales ratios
as high as 1000% - yes that is One Thousand Percent.
In most cases the traffic is coming from different places so this also is a positive. Pricing
ranges from .005 to .05 per so it's not all that costly to make a few bucks.
What type of cash flow we talking about? Of course the answer depends on how much
traffic you buy and what the affiliate payout is. Some people that are using this with Ebay
are making filthy money other programs do very well also. So if you go back to the
basics and re-read what I have written, put it together with what you have learned here
and you'll have a winning campaign.
Even if the merchant checks your html code, they’re just going to see normal html and are unlikely to think anything of the javascript file. Even if they do then they won’t understand the contents of the javascript file because it’s been obfuscated.
If the affiliate/merchant checks your source code then they’re almost certainly not going to think anything of just another image tag within your code.
A good thing about this method is that you can signup to forums and post the image link in your signature. For example you signup to a poker affiliate who pays $100 for every new customer you get to join them. Then you go signup to a huge poker forum, you stick the image in your signature and start posting on the forum. Before you know it you have dropped your cookies on everyone on that forum and the chances are quite high they’re going to go signup for a poker room anyway.
